My approach is to understand, explore, focus, and design to scale.

I dig in to understand users’ wants and needs, as well as the needs and goals of the business. Then I explore different design concepts and focus on the ones that most meaningfully meet the user needs and will help achieve the business goals. Any project has tradeoffs and changes along the way, so I stay engaged cross functionally throughout development to make sure that if changes are needed, they are made in ways that preserve the user need being met.

Since not every project will be able to build every potential feature at one time, I design products in a way that new features will easily scale. I like to create patterns that are modular and scalable for the future, so that design and engineering work is simpler in the future.
